Two again...

“Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish.”~ Euripides

“Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.”~ Unknown

Does anyone really need an explanation? 'Cause I think everyone understand these quotes... These are pretty famous quotes. I like both of them. No offence to anyone!

Double post again.. Wait, Triple...

Don't know why I keep forgetting about this... 2 again it seems...

“As a well-spent day brings happy sleep, so life well used brings happy death.”~ Leonardo da Vinci

“Think not disdainfully of death, but look on it with favor; for even death is one of the things that Nature wills.”~ Marcus Aurelius Antoninus

Both about death.... Death is supposed to be welcome...Who wants to live forever? Still, people fear it. I've heard another one before...

"Death isn't scary, it's merely the fear of death that makes people scared."~Unknown

I think that quote pretty much explains my thoughts..

GACK!

Just realised I haven't written for almost a week... Mom is so going to be mad... I'll put 2 up today then...

“Life is just one damned thing after another.”~ Elbert Hubbard (1856 - 1915)"

“It's not true that life is one damn thing after another; it is one damn thing over and over.”~ Edna St. Vincent Millay (1892 - 1950)

These two are kinda contradicting, ain't they? Somehow, I agree with both.... since both keeps happening to me...

Spending time well

“As a well-spent day brings happy sleep, so life well used brings happy death.”~ Leonardo da Vinci

This speaks for itself. I think this quote really has a deep meaning. There are people in this world who waste their time without a second thought, time and life should be cherished as once they're gone, they will never come back.

Dignity

“I too shall lie in the dust when I am dead, but now let me win noble renown.”~ Homer (800 BC - 700 BC), The Iliad

This is saying that although everyone will die, when one is alive, he should still be noble. It is not a wasted effort to be noble as people will remember you, even after your death. I agree with this. One should always carry oneself with dignity and not disrespect others.

Writing

"All I need is a sheet of paper and something to write with, and then I can turn the world upside down." ~Friedrich Nietzsche

This is an unusual one... This quote probably meant that Friedrich Nietzsche was a writer or wanted to be a writer, and his stories can shock the world... I wish I could write a book that could do that...

Almost Late!

Yikes! Almost missed the dead line due to CCA... Well here's the next quote..

“A candle that burns on both ends, will not last the night. But oh, my friends and ah, my foes, they give a lovely light” ~Roald Dahl

Roald Dahl, one of my favourite authors...The candle itself signifies time that is passing. Although time steadily passes, the light from the friends and foes shows that the memories of htem are precious, unlike a normal candle.

Fate

"Fate is like a strange, unpopular restaurant, filled with odd waiters who bring you things you never asked for and don't always like." ~ Lemony Snicket - Horseradish: Bitter Truth You Cant Avoid.

I kinda agree. Fate never gives me what I want, it give me good times, bad times and some very weird situations. Odd waiters, are they the situations in life? Fate, what a weird thing... and I really think I'm not favoured by it...

Quotes

Ok... I'll be posting some quotes up and putting my own comments about them. I won't mind if you guys comment and would like some people to give some quotes that I can use.(I'm doing this cause mom wnated me to do something educational[I'm not very sure if this is what she wants])

"All the darkness in the world cannot but out the light of a small candle"~Unknown

Can't remember where I read this quote... It seems awlfully familiar somehow.. It's one of my favourite quotes. The light of the candle means oneself and the darkness means all the obstacles to come. This quote means that no matter whatever obstacles there is to come, if we keep persisting, we will eventually overcome them.
